FAQ

Q: Why would I need a dog walker?

A: If you're like most of us, you don't work close to home, and its not really feasible to swing by the house to let the dog out at lunch time.  But expecting our dogs to "hold it" all those hours we are away isn't exactly feasible either.  That's where we come in!  We'll take your dog(s) for a walk and provide fresh air, exercise and a chance to use the bathroom.  If you've got a fenced yard, we can also just let your dog(s) into the yard instead.  Its up to you!

Q. Why wouldn't I just board my pet while I'm away?

A. Allowing your pet to stay in his or her own environment is less stressful for them, and having a pet sitter is a terrific deterrant for crime.  How?  We will come at slightly different times each day, leaving on a variety of lights, bringing in your mail, paper and any packages, and giving the appearance of someone being at home.

Q: What kind of experience do you have?

A: Sierra Stroll is owned and operated by Chris Caswell, an animal care professional with over fifteen years of experience handling and caring for domestic, wild and exotic animals.  Chris has been affiliated with such reputable organizations as the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, as well as a humane training facility for endangered animals.  Chris is certified in animal first aid and CPR, and holds numerous certifications in animal behavior, training, health and nutrition.  We have an all-adult, carefully screened and very experienced staff of animal care professionals.

Q: What if I have an animal that has an "attitude"?

A: We have a very special place in our hearts for "problem children," and we encourage you to give us a chance to work with your "difficult" animal.  We can never guarantee that pets with these issues will come around for us, and we reserve the right to pass if we feel that it isn't going to work.  While we believe every animal deserves a chance, we also know that its never a good idea to needlessly stress an animal or endanger its pet care professional.
